Multiple gunshots were reported outside The Cave nightclub at the Oread Hotel, 1200 Oread Ave., early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the scene around 2:15 a.m. According to Lawrence Police Sgt. Kirk Fultz, nobody was injured and police did not make any arrests. Fultz also said police did not find any bullet holes. The incident is still under investigation.

According to Journal-World blogger Operation 100, emergency dispatch scanner traffic reported a shooter driving by and firing a rifle into a crowd outside the nightclub. No vehicle or suspect description has been given.

As of 3 p.m. on Sunday, there were no updates released by police, and more information probably wouldn’t be available until Monday, Fultz said.
