North-South winners were Catherine Blumenfeld and Grant Sutton, first in A and B; John Oxley and Klee Zaricky, second in A; Bobby Patton and Ed Howard, third in A; and Marilyn Martin and Jack Flickinger, second in B.

East-West winners were Jerry Sloan and Rob Seaver, first in A; Eldon Herd and Jean Khatib, second in A; Lois Clark and Jan O’Connor, third in A and first in B; and Yvonne Hedges and Sally Taylor, second in B.

The Thursday Morning Mentor Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on May 19 was directed by Chris Lane. Winners were Eldon Herd and Gary Joyce, first; Florine Creek and Jan O’Connor tied in second with Deronda Ashley and Chris Lane; and Mary Locniskar and Paul Heitzman, fourth.

The Friday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on May 20 was directed by Virginia Seaver. North-South winners were Steven Vossler and Larry Weatherholt, first in A; Chris Lane and Shirley Reese, second in A and first in B; Klee Zaricky and Virginia Seaver, third in A; Judy Hildreth and Carol Ball, fourth in A; and Emily Foster and Jan O’Connor, second in B and first in C.

The Monday Evening Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on May 23 was directed by Virginia Seaver. Winners were Brian Barrett and Jeremy Martin, first; Jerry Sloan and Patrick Musick, second; Bobby Patton and Donna Johnson, third; and Rob Seaver and Virginia Seaver, fourth.

University Bridge Club announces results of its May 28 meeting with hosts Harold and Donna Riehm.

The Kansas Lions State Convention in Lawrence took on an international flavor as the Kansas Lions played host to international president Sid and Judy Scruggs of Vass, N.C., at the Lawrence Holiday Inn Convention Center. The convention, which began Thursday and ends today, is the final event of the Kansas Lions Year, and will culminate in the fourth and final meeting of the State Board of Governors, the leaders of Kansas Lions Clubs.
