OSHA investigating Arkansas City company

? Federal authorities are investigating an Arkansas City company after two serious accidents occurred in recent weeks.

An official with the Occuapational Safety and Health Administration confirmed Thursday that the agency is investigating the accidents at Kan-Pak LLC but would not provide any other details.

In one of the accidents, 28-year-old Darin Pinion of Arkansas City was critically burned in late June when a steam line malfunctioned. His father said Pinion was in critical condition Thursday at a Wichita hospital.

The Arkansas City Traveler reported that another worker was injured Saturday when he fell from a ladder. He was taken to a hospital but further details about the accident were not released.

Kan-Pak produces packages of cold and frozen beverages, coffee and dessert.
