Emporia ? A national magazine says Emporia State University has the most affordable business school in the U.S.

The U.S. News and World Report study says Emporia State tops the list of least expensive public programs. Emporia State’s cost of about $5,400 for in-state tuition and fees in the 2010-2011 school year was more than $1,200 cheaper than the second-place school — Southern University and A&M College in Louisiana, which costs about $6,600.

The average cost of the 10 most expensive schools was $34,698 for in-state business students.

James Williams, vice president of academic affairs at ESU, said in a release the school also has global accreditation, small class sizes, and that more than 97 percent of its graduates are placed in jobs six to nine months after graduation.
