An 85-year-old Leavenworth man was killed in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon south of Lansing on Kansas Highway 7, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

A KHP report said Duane F. Lindle had stopped southbound at a red light in his southbound 2008 Ford passenger car on K-7 at Fairmont Road about 1:15 p.m. when his vehicle was rear-ended by a 1998 Toyota car that failed to yield.

The driver of the Toyota, 55-year-old Jo Anne Parker of Lansing, was injured and taken to Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City, Kan., according to the KHP.

Both drivers wore their seat belts.
