Regents give approval to expansion of KU’s library annex

? The Kansas Board of Regents on Thursday approved Kansas University’s request for a $4 million expansion of the Library Annex on West Campus.

The current Library Annex has the capacity to hold 1.6 million volumes and is expected to be full in three years. KU wanted to get the green light to start planning for the 9,600-square-foot expansion, hoping to have it completed in spring 2013.

The project will be funded with private dollars, KU officials have said.
