The Lawrence Community Shelter will benefit from the red shoe event “There’s No Place Like Home” at 7 p.m. Feb. 4 at the Barrel House.

Executive director Loring Henderson said it’s the second time the shelter has held the event, which benefits the day-to-day operations of the shelter.

Dancing, dueling pianos, food and drinks will be on the agenda for the night, which will also include a drawing for the Red Shoe Raffle. Prizes will be given to people with the most creative red shoes for both men and women, and work by local artists will be auctioned.

Loring said the money would be especially helpful during the cold winter months, when about 100 people were finding shelter there every night.
