Police: Suspect in Hutchinson child molestation case murdered in Poland

? Police say a man suspected in a child molestation case in central Kansas has been found murdered in Poland.

Hutchinson Police Sgt. John Taylor says his department has confirmed with the FBI and family members of a 21-year-old man that he was murdered in Warsaw, Poland on Dec. 23. The Hutchinson News reports that media in Poland say the man’s 18-year-old boyfriend tortured and strangled him.

The suspect fled the country after being charged with molesting a 12-year-old boy, whom he mentored in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program in Hutchinson. He posted bond and then did not appear for trial Sept. 20.

Taylor says the case is officially closed.
