Emergency crews respond to ruptured gas line in county

Emergency crews responded Tuesday evening to reports that a natural gas line had been ruptured.

Reports of the incident were received by Douglas County emergency dispatchers around 10 p.m. A driver near the intersection of East 700 Road and North 1500 Road reported his vehicle had slid from the roadway and struck a gas tank.

Responding police officers blocked traffic near the area and a hazardous materials unit was called for. The gas line that was struck was reportedly a high-pressure line and a rupture was confirmed.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
