Kansas State shares veterinary education grant

? Three professors at Kansas State University are working on a project to develop new ways of teaching veterinarians who are involved with food safety.

Faculty at Iowa State and the University of Arkansas are also involved in the work, which is funded with a grant of $330,000 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Kansas State’s share is $99,000.

Professor Robert Larson, of the clinical sciences department at Kansas State’s veterinary medicine college, says the goal is to provide more instruction on food safety without adding courses and labs. Larson says the faculty members will work with Kansas State’s College of Engineering to develop innovative ways to teach and learn in the veterinary school.

Professor David Anderson and associate professor Brad White are also taking part in the project.
