Kansas University sophomore forward Thomas Robinson, who had surgery 10 days ago to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee, practiced Sunday.

Coach Bill Self lists Robinson as “questionable” for today’s 8 p.m. home game against Oklahoma State.

“We have a great training staff, unbelievable,” Robinson said. “Everybody tells me to keep a positive attitude.”

Be aggressive, b-e a-g-g-r-e-s-s-i-v-e

KU freshman combo guard Josh Selby, who had four points and five assists against two turnovers while playing 21 minutes in Saturday’s 89-63 victory over Colorado, has been trying to drive more.

“Coach has been telling me to be aggressive,” Selby said. “I’m trying to finish more. My foot (stress reaction, right foot) is not 100 percent. When I get back in the game flow, I’ll be fine.”

He said he’s about 80 to 85 percent.

“Mentally, I’m doing great because of my teammates,” Selby said. “When I was suspended nine games (to open season), they kept me into it. They said, ‘You’ll be good when you get back.’ When I got injured (missing three games), I broke down a little bit because I was not able to play. I was never injured like that. My teammates kept saying, ‘When you get back, everything will be good. Just get healthy. Take care of that body. We’re holding it down for you now.’ Today (vs. Colorado) I felt good. I’m moving a bit slow because of my foot. Everything will get better.”

Nice shot Saturday

KU fan Ryan Carney hit a halfcourt shot to win a Chipotle-sponsored halftime promotion. He made a layup, free throw, three-pointer and the halfcourt shot, all in 45 seconds, to win a Chipotle gift pack, a piece of the floor from the 2008 Final Four and an autographed KU basketball.

Anthem mixup

Players from KU and Colorado were not on the court for the national anthem before Saturday’s game.

When it was announced for fans to stand for the alma mater, the singer instead broke into the national anthem, then the alma mater.

“When he started to sing the national anthem, we went with the flow and told the teams to stay in the locker room an extra minute or two,” KU associate AD Jim Marchiony said. “They were fine about it.

“He (singer) was supposed to sing the alma mater, then the anthem (later with teams on court). I don’t know if he was nervous before 16,300 fans. He did a great job on both, though.”

Sherron on Brown

Former KU guard Sherron Collins of the Charlotte Bobcats on coach Larry Brown stepping down as the NBA team’s coach in December.

“It was surprising. It was OK. I was good with both coaches,” Collins said of Brown and his replacement, Paul Silas. “It’s not like there was any bad blood. That was the decision they made. L.B. is a Hall of Fame coach, and I learned a lot from him. I’ll take that and learn from the next coach and put it all together.”

Narrow loss for Pokes

OSU guard Keiton Page on Saturday’s 67-66 home loss to Texas A&M: “It’s a huge disappointment. We had to win this game. We’re at home with our crowd. We’re tough to beat here … so it’s disappointing to lose this type of game in our own gym.”

Sophomore Reger Dowell scored a career-high 22 points Saturday. He entered the game with 22 points all year.

Who’s No. 1?

The top four teams in the AP poll lost last week, meaning Duke (25-2) could move all the way from No. 5 to No. 1 today. KU, No. 1 last week, lost to K-State; No. 2 Ohio State lost to Purdue; No. 3 Texas lost to Nebraska; and No. 4 Pitt lost to St. John’s.

Recruiting

Rivals.com reports that KU has offered a scholarship to Cezar Guerrero, a 6-foot senior guard from St. John Bosco High in Bellflower, Calif. Guerrero, who is ranked No. 61 nationally, is also considering Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Wake Forest, BYU and others. He is a Belmont Shore summer league teammate of DeAndre Daniels, a 6-8 senior from IMG Academies in Bradenton, Fla., who is expected to choose between KU and Texas.
