Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical officials are investigating a small fire in a west Lawrence home and considering the possibility it may have been started intentionally.

Police were called to an unoccupied home in the 3100 block of Creekwood Drive just at about 5 p.m. after a neighbor reported suspicious activity believed to be related to someone trying to set fire to the house.

Division chief Joe Hoelscher said the investigation was ongoing and not likely to come to any conclusions until at least Tuesday.

The fire was out at the time crews arrived, Hoelscher said.
