“The E! Entertainment Special: Fascinating Celebrity Weddings” (8 p.m., E!) has all the makings of becoming its own weekly special, if not its own cable channel. It has that special combination of well-known names and the designers they are buying and wearing. It’s a double-dose of boldfaced name-dropping.

No glance back at recent ceremonies can forget the royal wedding between Pippa’s sister and that guy. But there are also Chelsea Clinton’s big day, Reese Witherspoon’s marriage, and celebrations of celebrity brides, including Monica, Chely Wright, Sherri Shepherd, Shannon Tweed and Brooke Burke.

We’re reminded that Kellie Pickler got married in the sea and that Miranda Lambert made a point of arriving for her ceremony in a pickup truck. Not to be outdone, Katy Perry rode an elephant on her way to the altar.

Celebrities have to work overtime to keep the prying eyes of paparazzi from ruining their day. Vanessa Minnillo and Nick Lachey applied for a fireworks permit to keep the helicopters at bay. Apparently, an anti-aircraft battery would ruin the decor.

Look for plenty of obsessing over dresses, including those worn by Hilary Duff, Nicole Richie, Molly Sims, Carrie Underwood and Ivanka Trump. And don’t forget Kim Kardashian, whose marriage has already been toe-tagged! If E! ever launches a Celebrity Wedding Channel, it might spin off a Celebrity Divorce Network, too.

• Anthony Bourdain spends some downtime in Montreal on “The Layover” (8 p.m., Travel). Why would Tony spend 24-36 hours between flights in Quebec when it’s only a seven-hour drive to his home in Manhattan? Because somebody’s paying him to!

This new series, while informative, puts entirely too much emphasis on consumerism over culture. It’s all about where to eat, where to stay and what to buy. As such, it’s the product placement version of “No Reservations” (9 p.m., Travel). Of course, I never miss an episode.

• The season ends for “You Deserve It” (8 p.m., ABC). And we deserve that.

• Brenda’s lawyer stumbles in court on “The Closer” (8 p.m., TNT).

• A hostage crisis turns deadly on “Hawaii Five-O” (9 p.m., CBS).

• Scheduled on “Rock Center With Brian Williams” (9 p.m., NBC): web-based philanthropy; a giant in regional theater; awaking from a “vegetative” state.

• Art, insurance and murder collide on “Castle” (9 p.m., ABC).
