Benedictine College player killed in wreck

? A Benedictine College basketball player has been killed in a car accident in western Missouri.

Reginald Demps Jr., a 20-year-old sophomore guard for Benedictine, was going to Kansas City International Airport early Wednesday when the accident occurred in Platte County. He was headed home to Aurora, Colo., for the holidays.

The Kansas City Star reports that the cause of the accident is under investigation. A passenger in the car was also injured.

In a statement on the team’s website, basketball coach Ryan Moody said the news of Demps’ death was “devastating” and described Demps as a great teammate with an infectious personality.
