LMH reports two stabbing incidents

Lawrence police are investigating two separate incidents in which two men showed up at Lawrence Memorial Hospital saying they’d been stabbed. The first one occurred just before 8 p.m. Wednesday when a 21-year-old Lawrence man alleged he was stabbed as he walked in the 700 block of West Ninth Street. The man said he had driven himself to the hospital, and he was being treated for injuries not believed to be life-threatening, said Sgt. Matt Sarna, a police spokesman. “There are no suspects identified, and the incident is still under investigation,” Sarna said. The second one was reported at 3:35 a.m. Thursday by a Lawrence man who said he was stabbed by an unknown suspect in the downtown area. The man had a minor cut to his finger and was treated and released from LMH, Sarna said.
