Army honors Wellsville football senior

? The U.S. Army Kansas City Recruiting Battalion recently announced that Wellsville High football’s Nolan Rush is the Army Iron Man of the Year for Kansas. 

Rush, a WHS senior, had 1,070 all-purpose yards, with 180 yards rushing and two scores, while leading the Eagles with 39 receptions for 817 yards and 14 touchdowns.

As a defensive back, Rush recorded 32 tackles, secured a team-high eight interceptions, defended three passes, recovered two fumbles and forced a fumble. 

Fans from across the state selected Rush as the Army Iron Man from among 10 finalists, including Eudora’s Chris Pyle.

The award goes to players who excel on both offense and defense.
