Baldwin City — Dustin Leochner’s debut as the Baldwin High boys basketball coach was a successful one Friday night.

BHS will play Monday and Tuesday in a tournament at Louisburg against Chanute and Anderson County.

Pleasant Ridge 59, Wellsville 50

Easton — Wellsville made a game of it with a 20-14 third quarter, but Pleasant Ridge held on.

Ottawa 62, St. James 44

Ottawa — Semi Ojeleye scored 36 points.

Dallas Natt had eight points for Ottawa (1-0), which travels to the Goodland Tournament Thursday for a first-round game against Burlington, Colo.

Basehor-Linwood 74, Tonganoxie 39

Tonganoxie — Dane Erickson had 13 points in a losing cause. Tongie (0-1) will travel Dec. 13 to Kansas City (Kan.) Ward.Waterman 4, Tim Sanders 2, Chase Younger 10.

Santa Fe Trail 47, Baldwin 39

Baldwin City — Katie Jones scored 20 points in her first varsity start, but it wasn’t enough as Baldwin fell short in its season opener.

Atchison 47, Perry-Lecompton 19

Perry — Janie Childs led Perry with five points. Tara Ellermen had 20 for Atchison.

Perry (0-1) will travel Tuesday to Royal Valley.
