A Lawrence woman who was taken to Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka on Tuesday with apparent stab wounds was listed in fair condition Thursday, a hospital spokeswoman said. The woman’s husband, a 39-year-old Lawrence man, faces charges of attempted murder and attempted rape after he was arrested following the incident at the residence in the 500 block of John Doy Court. District Judge Paula Martin in court Thursday scheduled the man’s next hearing for Dec. 22. The Journal-World generally does not identify sex crime suspects unless they are convicted.
