Journal-World wins 3 awards for online excellence
The Lawrence Journal-World on Wednesday won three top awards for online excellence.
The international EPpy Awards, presented by Editor & Publisher, honor the best media-affiliated websites.
WellCommons.com won the EPpy for Best Community Service on a Media-Affiliated Website with under 250,000 unique monthly visitors. WellCommons.com, which is edited by reporter Karrey Britt, covers health issues in northeast Kansas.
Journal-World photographers Kevin Anderson, Richard Gwin and Nick Krug and photo chief Mike Yoder won Best News Video with 250,000 to 1 million unique monthly visitors. Krug also won Best Sports Video with 250,000 to 1 million unique monthly visitors for a time lapse of a KU Relays shot put competition in downtown Lawrence.
KUsports.com was one of three finalists for Best Sports Website with 250,000 to 1 million unique monthly visitors.
