Lawrence police arrested a 25-year-old Lawrence man early Saturday morning after they were called in reference to a theft in the 3100 block of Ousdahl Drive. A 20-year-old Lawrence woman alleged an acquaintance had taken a Dell laptop computer out of her residence without her consent. Police later found the suspect in possession of the computer and arrested him, said Sgt. Matt Sarna, a Lawrence police spokesman.

Douglas County prosecutors Monday filed a theft charge against Alexander Daugherty, according to court records.
