July 23 carjacking suspect arrested Saturday evening

One of three suspects in a July 23 carjacking in west Lawrence was arrested Saturday evening.

Lawrence woman Deondria Smith, 26, was booked into the jail around 6:30 p.m. on charges of aggravated robbery and is being held on a $50,000 bond.

The other two suspects in the carjacking are Charles E. Reed, 19, and Travis J. Brownlee, 33. The crime occurred about 3:45 a.m. on July 23 in the 2400 block of Winterbrook Drive, southwest of Clinton Parkway and Kasold Drive.

The victim was treated at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Police believe the suspects are either in Lawrence, Topeka or the Kansas City area.

Lawrence Police warned that the suspects should be considered armed and dangerous.
