Remains of missing eastern Kansas man found in creek

? The remains of an eastern Kansas man who disappeared nearly two years ago have been found in a creek bed.

Twenty-nine-year-old Brian Trester, of Neosho Rapids, was reported missing in late October 2009 when his truck was found stuck in a creek near Olpe, southeast of Emporia.

KVOE-AM reports that Lyon County sheriff’s deputies discovered a set of skeletal remains Aug. 11 in the creek bed about two miles downstream. The remains had been exposed by prolonged drought.

The sheriff’s office said Friday forensic tests have confirmed the remains as those of Trester. It’s still not known how he died.
