A 49-year-old Lawrence man was arrested early Sunday morning for allegedly threatening his ex-wife with a knife, according to Lawrence Police Sgt. Kirk Fultz.

The incident occurred in the 4500 block of Trail Road around 1:30 a.m., Fultz said.

In addition to threatening the woman with a knife, the suspect also reportedly poured laundry detergent in the woman’s vehicle, in attempt to keep the woman from leaving.

The suspect was booked into the Douglas County Jail on charges of aggravated assault, criminal restraint, criminal property damage, and domestic battery. No bail was set.
