The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Douglas and surrounding counties in effect from 11 a.m. today until 8 p.m. Sunday.

Temperatures are expected to reach the mid to upper 90s, with a heat index of between 105 and 110.

The NWS advises taking precautions if you are going to be outside, such as wearing loose fitting clothing and drinking plenty of fluids.
