Police arrest Lawrence man following aggravated assault

Douglas County prosecutors Thursday filed aggravated assault and criminal damage to property charges against a 20-year-old Lawrence man after he was arrested early Thursday morning.

A judge set bond for Phillip Edward Rogers at $5,000 Thursday afternoon and ordered him to next appear in court at 2 p.m. Monday.

Lawrence police arrested Rogers initially at 3:45 a.m. in the 1800 block of Almira Avenue on charges of aggravated assault, criminal use of a weapon like a club or knife and criminal damage.

Police were called to the residence at 3 a.m. on a report of a domestic disturbance.
