Military officers convening at Fort Leavenworth for start of Command and General Staff College

? More than 1,000 military officers from the United States and several foreign nations are making their way toward Fort Leavenworth for the start of the next session of the Army Command and General Staff College.

The class will conduct an opening ceremony Monday at the Eisenhower Auditorium inside the college’s Lewis and Clark Center. The international officers represent 64 nations.

Officers are in the middle of their military careers and will spend the next 10 months at the northeast Kansas post. They will be instructed in military tactics, strategies and intergovernmental cooperation.

The course is designed to develop war-fighting and leadership skills necessary for military officers to be proficient in full-spectrum operations.
