Sluggers victorious in Texas tourney

? The Kansas City Sluggers picked a pretty good time to win their first baseball tournament of the summer on Sunday.

In their final tourney of the season, the Sluggers beat the Texas Stix, 9-6, in the championship game of the USSSA Action Baseball Invitational.

K.C. also defeated E-Train (Texas) baseball, 3-1, on Sunday in the semifinals.

Shane Willoughby earned the victory in the title game, pitching four innings of relief and striking out five. He also went 3-for-4 with an RBI.

Devin Garcia (42/3 scoreless innings, three strikeouts) was the winning pitcher in the semifinals.
