Lawrence police arrest man accused of domestic disturbance

Lawrence police arrested a 41-year-old man Monday afternoon who was accused of injuring a 46-year-old woman in a domestic disturbance.

Sgt. Randy Roberts, a police spokesman, said officers were called about 12:30 p.m. to the 2500 block of Morningside Court near Crossgate Drive and West 27th Street for a disturbance. Roberts said the two people were involved in a domestic argument, and the man was accused of refusing to let the woman, who suffered broken ribs and severe bruising on her arms and legs, leave the residence.

The woman was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital for treatment, and police arrested the man, who had a Leavenworth address according to booking records, on charges of aggravated battery and criminal restraint.
