Topeka ? Ten Kansas high school students are in line for special recognition after scoring a perfect 36 on the ACT college readiness exam.

The 10 seniors will be presented engraved plaques Thursday during the annual Kansas ACT State Organization 2011 Conference in Topeka. Each of the eight schools represented by the students will also be recognized.

The ACT consists of four tests in English, math, reading and science. Each test is scored on a scale from 1 to 36, with scores averaged to create a composite score.

More than 23,000 students in Kansas took the ACT last year. Figures for 2011 will be available this summer.
