Two more charged in March break-in

Two Lawrence residents entered pleas Friday afternoon to misdemeanor charges in connection with a March incident in the 1400 block of Haskell Avenue.

Joshua D. Haynes, 22, pleaded no contest to criminal restraint and criminal trespassing, and Tasha M. Barnes, 34, pleaded guilty to the same charges.

Prosecutors had initially filed counts of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated burglary after police accused them of participating with co-defendant Leon E. Kimball, 34, in breaking into a residence March 26.

Prosecutors accuse Kimball of forcing one resident to go with him to find someone else. Kimball, who has not yet been declared mentally competent to assist in his defense, was accused of punching one of the residents, who required stitches.

Prosecutors have filed aggravated charges of battery, robbery, kidnapping and burglary against Kimball.

District Judge Michael Malone revoked bond for both Haynes and Barnes on Friday and has scheduled sentencing in each case for Thursday.
