The Stull Busy Beavers 4-H Club met March 14 at the Stull United Methodist Church Faith and Friendship Center. Roll call was answered by naming one of the ‘H’s in 4-H. Parliamentarians Jessye Schumann and Alexis Clark explained the different ways to vote during club meetings. The club donated funds toward supplies for the Addison Leslie family pancake fundraiser. They also voted to sponsor the level 4 horticulture judging contest award for the Douglas County Fair in August. The club presented their model meeting at regional club days held March 19 at South Junior High School and received top purple. The program consisted of Bailey Leming (proper teeth brushing), Keeran Jones (breeds of dogs), Madison Wulfkuhle (how to make a sea-themed photo frame), Brianna Childers (how to tattoo a rabbit), and Elizabeth Donaldson (how to cross stitch). Freeze tag was played for recreation and the meeting was adjourned by reciting the club motto.

The club also met April 11 at the Stull UMC Faith and Friendship Center. The junior officers ran the meeting. Roll call was answered by whether or not you were attending 4-H camp in June. Community leader, Gina Schumann, reviewed several upcoming dates including: April 15 (the last day to register for county camp); the Addison Leslie family pancake fundraiser, which will be from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. today in Building 21 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds; and May 1 (the last day to add or drop projects). Fair pre-enrollment packets will be coming to families soon. The deadline to return information back to the fair board is June 30. The club made a monetary donation to the Stull UMC’s food pantry. Rebecca Donaldson gave a illustrated talk on scrapbooking. The meeting was adjourned by reciting the club motto.

The monthly meeting of the Lone Star 4-H Club was called to order March 14 at the Lone Star Church by President Franklin Johnson. Amanda Burgoon and Katie Williams led the club in singing “I’m Looking Over a 4-H Clover.” Roll call was, “Who do you want to win the national championship in college basketball?” Mary Kate Shultz was inducted into the club. Rowan Plinsky gave a project talk on baking brownies. Johnson gave a project talk on photography. Rachel Sanders did a current event about the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Laura Neilson and Megan Williams both gave a current event about the earthquake in Japan. After the meeting, the club held a project fair for the club members to learn about different projects that they can do for the Douglas County Fair.n
