Speaker to focus on trade policies

A Chicago community organizer and former Indigenous Peoples of Honduras organizer is scheduled to speak in Lawrence on Wednesday.

Lawrence Fair Trade and the Mexican Solidarity Network will host Carlos Euceda at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Ecumenical Christian Ministries building, 1204 Oread Drive.

The event will include a showing of the 30-minute film “A Thousand Fibers,” which focuses on the textile industry.

The film will lead into a discussion on trade policies and their effects on people and correlation with migration.

It is free and open to the public.
