KU men’s golf team third at Colorado invite

? Kansas University’s men’s golf team finished third at the Colorado Invitational on Tuesday with a score of 869.

Senior Jeff Bell tied for 10th with a 54-hole score of 216. It was Bell’s first tournament of the season.

“We’re very happy for Jeff,” KU coach Kit Grove said. “He got off to a great start but had a few hiccups here and there, but overall, he did great and I am happy for him.”

All the Jayhawks finished within a few strokes of each other. Senior Nate Barbee finished the tournament with a 217, sophomore Chris Gilbert was right behind with a 218, sophomore Alex Gutesha finished with a 219 and junior Doug Quinones rounded out the team with a 223.

New Mexico won the tournament with a 859 and Colorado State came in second place with a score of 860.
