Nate Scott scored four touchdowns and Ethan Scott two, while Nick Bennett threw for two TDs and ran for another in Veritas Christian School’s 56-6 football victory over Hutchinson Central Christian on Friday at Veritas’ field.

Ethan Scott rushed for 77 yards off five carries, Nate Scott 62 off nine carries and Bennett 63 yards off four carries. Bennett hit six of 14 passes for 108 yards. Bennett had two two-point conversion runs and one two-point pass to Ethan Kay.

Jerrid Cadue had 19 tackles, Bryce Boland 10 and Mitch Moshiri seven as Veritas won by the mercy rule with 10:14 to play.

“We controlled the line of scrimmage,” coach Doug Bennett said. “It was the biggest thing. We were in their backfield all night.

“This was a solid team we played tonight. They had good size with good athletes. I was pleased with how well we did. We added a few things offensively and worked them in and executed well,” Bennett added.

Veritas improved to 3-0 entering Friday’s homecoming game versus St. John’s Military.
