Olathe woman injured in accident Wednesday near Baldwin City
An Olathe woman was injured Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle accident west of Baldwin City on U.S. Highway 56.
According to a Kansas Highway Patrol report, a westbound 2004 BMW car was attempting to pass a 2005 Hyundai Accent while the Hyundai was attempting to make a left turn. The collision happened at 7:10 p.m. about 2.5 miles west of Baldwin City.
The driver of the Hyundai, 21-year-old Katherine Mercer of Olathe, was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where she was treated and released, an LMH spokeswoman said. The BMW’s driver, 25-year-old Heather Mady of Overland Park, was not injured.
The report said both drivers wore their seat belts.
