Kansas Attorney General seeks to form child predator unit

? Kansas Attorney General Steve Six intends to ask legislators next session to help him create a special division to investigate child predators.

The Democrat said Wednesday the unit would build on activities currently within the attorney general’s office. Those include human trafficking, civil enforcement of child pornography and sexually violent predator prosecutions.

Six says the new division would be a comprehensive approach to sexual exploitation of children using criminal, civil and investigative resources.

He said he already has begun discussions with U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom about increasing state and federal cooperation in cases involving children.
