An investigation is under way after a Kansas University fraternity party ended Friday night with one person being flown to Kansas University Hospital with head trauma.

Lawrence police said freshman Matt Fritzie was injured after diving into a pool at the Phi Gamma Delta house, 1540 La., just before 8 p.m.

Fritzie was flown to KU Hospital in Kansas City, Kan. Hospital officials confirmed his arrival but would not discuss his current condition.

Calls to several members of the fraternity, including chapter president Joseph Moore, were not returned.

The Office of Student Success said it’s looking into the matter.

Police are also investigating to determine whether a crime was involved.

“At this point it will be considered a medical emergency unless we discover something more,” Lawrence police Sgt. Matt Sarna said.
