Tonganoxie ? Shorthanded, Tonganoxie High’s football team had a long homecoming Friday night at Beatty Field — even though there was a running clock in the second half.

Mill Valley sophomore quarterback Skyler Windmiller aired it out with five touchdown passes as the Jaguars drubbed the Chieftains, 57-12.

THS (1-2) was without senior quarterback Jeremy Carlisle and senior safety Jeff Sims, but that was just the beginning of the home team’s problems.

Mill Valley (2-1) jumped on Tonganoxie early, taking a 29-0 lead after one quarter and did whatever it wanted to — be that run the ball up the middle with senior back Kyle Brunson, who went for two scores and continually gashed the Chieftains’ defense, or roll out Windmiller and have him look deep for an open receiver.

It wasn’t until the second quarter that THS finally found the end zone. Quarterback Brady Waldeier hit Shawn Marin with a pass, and the senior running back took it in for a 41-yard score with 10:45 to go in the first half.

But less than two minutes later, the Jags were at it again and scored on a 10-yard pass from Windmiller to Colin Wistuba.

Although Tonganoxie was able to score on its next possession, when senior back Dylan Scates caught a pass from Waldeier and turned it into a 71-yard touchdown with 8:03 remaining in the second quarter, the Chieftains couldn’t put together another scoring drive.

Friday, Mill Valley will play host to Kansas City (Kan.) Bishop Ward, and Tonganoxie will travel to K.C. Turner.

Baldwin 21, De Soto 7

De Soto — Asher Hannon’s 75-yard interception return for a touchdown sealed Baldwin’s third straight victory to open the season on Friday.

In the fourth quarter, Josh Hoffman scored on a three-yard run with 11:18 remaining to give BHS a 14-0 lead over De Soto (2-1).

Baldwin (3-0) will play at El Dorado on Friday.

Perry-Lecompton 39, Nemeha Valley 26

Seneca — Trent Robb gained 94 yards off 20 carries and scored three touchdowns in Perry-Lecompton’s victory over Nemeha Valley on Friday.

Luke Kellum gained 85 yards off 16 carries and scored off a 15-yard run.

Jeremy Immenschuh completed four of six passes for 107 yards and one touchdown — a 65-yard pass to Jonathan Denton.

The Kaws (3-0) will play host to Santa Fe Trail on Friday.

Eudora 24, Spring Hill 7

Spring Hill — Chris Pyle, Boomer Mays and Christian Richardson scored touchdowns for Eudora (2-1) in a victory over Spring Hill.

Olpe 10, Wellsville 8

Wellsville — Brandon Ebeck scored on a 41-yard run for Wellsville (2-1).

Oskaloosa 38, Sunrise Academy 12

Oskaloosa — Levi Wade returned a kickoff 80 yards for a score, and Oskaloosa led, 32-0, by halftime.

McLouth 37, Leavenworth Immaculata 0

McLouth — Alex Courtney rushed 21 times for 155 yards and three scores for McLouth.
