RAYTOWN, MO. Veritas Christian School’s football team wrapped up a 62-14 victory over Kansas City East on Tuesday in the conclusion of Friday’s suspended game.
Nate Scott finished with 115 yards off five carries with five touchdowns, including runs of 33, 18 and 50 yards, a pass reception of 38 yards from Nick Bennett and a 74 yard kickoff return. Ethan Kay had two TDs and Preston Randall one.
Bennett completed five of seven passes for 120 yards, two TDs, one interception and three two-point conversion runs. Kay had 50 yards off three carries. Jerrid Cadue had 14 tackles.
“We are off to a good start (2-0),” Veritas coach Doug Bennett said. “I feel we are executing on both sides of the ball, especially defensively we did well tonight. We are getting more physical controlling the line of scrimmage better than years past.”
Veritas will meet Central Christian a week from Friday at Veritas.
