Severe thunderstorm warning, tornado watch canceled early

11:21 p.m. update

The tornado watch affecting Douglas County has been canceled early. There are no watches or warnings currently in effect for the county.

10:33 p.m. update

The severe thunderstorm warning for Douglas County has been canceled early after the storm moved out of the area. The tornado watch is still in effect until 1 a.m.

10:09 p.m. update

The NWS has now included southeastern Douglas County in the severe thunderstorm warning, extending it until 11 p.m.

Locations impacted include Baldwin City, Ottawa, Wellsville, Princeton and Rantoul.

9:35 p.m. update

The National Weather Service has expanded the severe thunderstorm warning for Douglas County to include Lawrence. It is active until 10:15 p.m.

Other locations impacted include Vinland, Eudora, Clinton Lake and Pleasant Grove.

9:13 p.m. update

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Douglas County until 9:45 p.m.

Radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter-size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph moving across northwestern Douglas and southeastern Shawnee counties.

Locations impacted include Topeka, Pauline, Tecumseh, Richland and Lecompton.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Douglas County until 1 a.m.

It means conditions are favorable for severe weather, which could include the development of tornadoes.
