Salina man sentenced to more than 18 years

? A Salina man has been sentenced to more than 18 years in prison for his conviction on drug charges.

Reno County District Judge Richard Rome on Friday sentenced 34-year-old Billy Buss to 17 years for making methamphetamine and a consecutive 15 months for possession of pseudoephedrine with intent to manufacture.

The Hutchinson News reported that the judge then ordered sentences on eight other related charges in the case to run concurrently.

Buss was convicted in July on 10 of 12 felony counts stemming from an investigation that alleged he had created a meth lab in a Hutchinson hotel room.

Buss has maintained his innocence and said he’ll appeal the sentence.
