University Bridge Club announces results of its Aug. 28 meeting with hosts Dale and Wanda Kring.

Blue winners were Steven Bogler, first; Janet Dunn, second; George Bocquin, third; Al Smith, fourth; and Rosemary Morris, fifth.

Pink winners were Willi Stark, first; Sadie Deaton, second; Myrna Ikenberry, third; Lois Liebert, fourth; and Carol Smith, fifth.

The Wednesday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on Aug. 25 was a North American Pairs qualifying game and was directed by Chris Lane. North-South winners were Steven Vossler and Vince Nordberg, first in A; Katha Hurt and Diane Childs, second in A and first in B; John Reese and Shirley Reese, third in A and second in B; Carol Ball and Chris Lane, fourth in A and third in B; Albert Ballard and Margrete Hartman, first in C; and Angie Davidson and Dick Shaffer, qualified in C.

East-West winners were Ed Howard and John Fittell, first in A; Paul Heitzman and David Piro, second in A. There was a four-way tie for third in A among Rob Seaver and Virginia Seaver, Eldon Herd and Bobby Patton, Virginia Eddy and Madelyn Jenks, and Judy Bevan and Jan O’Connor, and a three-way tie for first in B among Herd and Patton, Eddy and Jenks, and Bevan and O’Connor. Bevan and O’Connor were also first in C; Yvonne Hedges and Sally Taylor, qualified in A and B; and Betty Collier and Mona Bell, qualified in C.

The Thursday Morning Mentor Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on Aug. 26 was directed by Chris Lane. Winners were Barbara Figgins and Doris Sindt, first; Angie Davidson and Eldon Herd, second; Barbara McCorkle and Barbara Haverty, third; and Hanni Zellman and Virginia Seaver, fourth.

The Friday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on Aug. 27 was the final North American Pairs qualifying game of the year and was directed by Virginia Seaver. North-South winners were Chuck Malcolm and Marti Malcolm, first in A; Kent McCullough and Lois Clark, first in A and second in B; Klee Zaricky and Sally Taylor, third in A and second in B; Steven Vossler and James Masilamani, fourth in A; Patricia Lombardi and Donna Munson, third in B; Jay Hildreth and Judy Hildreth, qualified in B; and Betty Collier and Wanna Roszel, qualified in C.

East-West winners were John Oxley and Elizabeth Jankord, first in A; Ed Howard and Vince Nordberg, second in A; Carol Ball and Chris Lane, third in A and first in B; Paul Heitzman and Rob Seaver, fourth in A and second in B; Jack Flickinger and Dick Shaffer, third in B and first in C; Eldon Herd and Angie Davidson, fourth in B; Mona Bell and Madelyn Jenks, qualified in A and B; and Bobby Patton and John Fittell, qualified in C.

The Monday Evening Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on Aug. 30 was directed by Virginia Seaver. The game utilized the Howell movement. Winners were Julia Dalton and Mary Fenlon, first in A; Virginia Seaver and Chris Lane, second in A; Ed Howard and John Reese, third in A; Donald Childers and Charlie Besch, fourth in A, and first in B and C; Lois Clark and Brian Barrett, second in B; and Bobby Patton and Eleanor Patton, second in C.
