Overland Park Union members at YRC Worldwide Inc. have approved a new agreement with the Overland Park-based trucking company.
The company said in a release that the new labor contract extends the Teamster’s national contract with YRC to March 2015 and maintains 15 percent wage cuts that were accepted last year.
The current agreement would have expired in 2013.
Mike Smid, President of YRC Inc. and Chief Operations Officer of YRC Worldwide, said the new contract gave YRC “a strong foundation for long-term growth.”
YRC, which operates under the Yellow, Roadway, Holland and New Penn names, has said the new agreement would save the company $350 million annually.
