Kansas man convicted in Salina murder

SALINA, Kan. (AP) — Sentencing is scheduled for December for a man convicted in the deaths of two men last year in Salina.

A Saline County jury on Friday found Willie J. Parker guilty of premeditated first-degree murder in the June 13, 2009 death of 24-year-old Alfred Mack Jr., and guilty of intentional second-degree murder for the June 19, 2009, shooting of 22-year-old Justin Letourneau.

The Salina Journal reports that Parker was also found guilty of theft and aggravated assault against Letourneau. He was found not guilty of two counts of aggravated burglary.

Judge Jerome Hellmer set sentencing for Dec. 16.
