Baker football wins in overtime, 12-9

? Baker’s football team defeated William Jewell, 12-9, in overtime on Saturday.

With just under 2:33 remaining in regulation, Baker trailed the Cardinals, 9-3. Freshman quarterback Jake Morse led a 51-yard drive to even the game. But freshman kicker Jared Morss missed what would’ve been the game-winning extra point.

In overtime, the Wildcats drove to the six-yard line before putting the game back in the hands of kicker Morss. This time he didn’t miss, and the Wildcats took a 12-9 lead.

Charleston Dela Cruz recovered a William Jewell fumble to seal the victory.
