How to help: Spanish instructors needed at Plymouth Congregational Church

Humane Society, Van Go also in need of volunteers

Plymouth Congregational Church’s Spanish class is seeking volunteer instructors to prepare and give lessons on Spanish grammar, vocabulary and verbs. Classes will run from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Tuesday at the church, 925 Vt., starting in January.

A facilitator for Spanish conversation classes on Thursday nights is also needed. Those classes will run from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays starting in January. For more information or to volunteer, contact Liz Weslander at lizweslander@hotmail.com.

• Friends of Hidden Valley Inc. is in need of a volunteer with carpentry skills to help build shelves, perform minor repairs, etc., at the Girl Scout camp. • The Van Go JAMS Program is in need of a volunteer driver who is willing to drive his or her own vehicle to transport JAMS apprentice artists from South Junior High School to Van Go, 715 N.J. Students must be picked up at 3:10 p.m. every Thursday until Nov. 11. The volunteer is welcome to stay and assist the art teacher and staff during class. • The Social Service League, 905 R.I., is in need of a couple volunteers to come in and organize its “Prom Queen Closet,” a small room full of fancy dresses that are given to girls and women who cannot afford a prom or formal dress. The project is ideal for a group of two to three people who love to organize and would be willing to help maintain the Prom Queen Closet over time as new donations come in.
