Wichita amusement center reopens

? An amusement center in Wichita where a boy died has reopened with safety measures in place.

The Wichita Eagle reported that Pure Entertainment offered free admission to the public Thursday as business resumed.

In March, a 5-year-old boy died at the play area after he fell from an inflatable ride and hit his head on a concrete floor.

Pure Entertainment’s portable-amusement license was suspended for 90 days in May for failing to have the rides properly inspected. Since then, crews have installed 2-inch foam padding and carpet in the play area. The improvements cost $20,000.

The play center also is launching a “Safety First” campaign.
