Kids Voting Douglas County campaigns for poll site volunteers

An election campaign is heating up — this one for volunteers — as voters both young and old prepare to go to the polls.

Organizers of Kids Voting Douglas County are looking for another 250 people to help run polling sites for area schoolchildren, who will be casting unofficial ballots Nov. 2 for candidates for governor, U.S. senator, U.S. representative and other offices. The sites are adjacent to actual polling sites for the general election.

Volunteer shifts are available from:

  • 6:45 a.m. to 9 a.m.
  • 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Kids Voting is a national effort designed to involve children in the democratic process before they become eligible to cast official votes.
