Kansas flies flags at half-staff for fallen Wichita soldier

? Gov. Mark Parkinson has ordered flags to be lowered across Kansas in honor of a soldier from Wichita who was killed in Afghanistan.

Flags will be lowered Friday from sunup to sundown in honor of Sgt. Justin Officer. The 26-year-old soldier was killed Sept. 29 in combat when a roadside bomb exploded.

Officer served with the 1st Squadron, 75th Cavalry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division out of Fort Campbell, Ky. He is survived by his mother and father.
