Douglas County prosecutors on Wednesday charged a 28-year-old Topeka man with brandishing a handgun and threatening a Lawrence man Monday evening near Ninth Street and Avalon Road.

Prosecutors filed one count of aggravated assault and one count of making a criminal threat against Reuben J. Zeller, of Topeka. Police arrested Zeller Tuesday in connection with a report made Tuesday night that he threatened an 18-year-old Lawrence man and brandished a gun Monday evening.
